Academy Admissions
Welcome from the Executive Principal
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to our website, which we hope captures the ethos of the Academy. Harris Academy Beulah Hill is a wonderful place to learn and teach. We have a very hardworking team of teachers and support staff; they provide a caring and welcoming atmosphere for our students.
Harris Academy Beulah Hill is a very popular 11-19 academy; we deliver a broad and challenging curriculum to all our students in a calm and well-ordered environment. We have high expectations of all members of the school community. This is reflected in our consistently high student performance at GCSE, progression to post 16 study at our sixth form and then on to some of the best universities in the country.
The site is huge with close to 8 acres of school buildings, sports halls, gymnasium, tennis courts and large playing fields / athletic track thus providing excellent facilities for our students. I am delighted that we have recently invested over £2 million to further improve our outstanding facilities including the development of a state-of-the-art Design Technology room equipped with laser cuter and 3D Printers, a Food room and a newly laid sports field and Astro pitch to ensure all year-round sporting opportunities.
The Academy has a limit of 900 places across Year 7-11 with sixth form operating jointly with Harris Academy South Norwood. We are unlike other schools; we do not want to expand at this moment in time, in fact, we wish to remain small for as long as possible! This will ensure a small school where your child is known to staff and a caring environment can be provided. This coupled with our outstanding pastoral programme supported by our non-teaching Heads of Year ensures your child is known and that contact with home is excellent.
Beulah Hill is traditional in our approach to discipline and uniform, yet forward-thinking and at the cutting edge of curriculum development, learning and pedagogy. We have a real focus on progress and attainment, several of our students achieved grades 9s in their GCSE and Sixth form achieving grades that enabled them to follow courses at LSE, Cambridge and other Russell Group universities. The Academy aims to develop the whole child. We have a breadth of extra-curricular activities including Drama, Creative writing, Chess, Food and Art Clubs alongside support and extension in traditional subjects.
We are proud of our Academy; we are proud of our students and proud of the education that they receive. Our intention is to provide insight into Academy life via our website, but to get a real understanding you must visit and see Beulah Hill in action. We welcome visits throughout the year. Our open-door policy and offer to let parents observe a ‘real’ working day is one of the reasons this Academy is now so popular with local families as they have had the opportunity to witness first-hand our amazing Academy. If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact Mrs Thomas - j.thomas@harrisbeulahhill.org.uk who will make arrangements for you.
We look forward to meeting you.

We will write to all parents/carers with the exact time approximately one week before the testing day. If you have named more than one Harris Academy on the Common Application Form your child/ward will only need to sit the test ONCE and will be notified as to which academy will be contacting you with details of your child's/ward's appointment.
Supplementary information form
If you require a concession in the admission test (for example for SEN or medical needs), you must complete the supplementary information form which can be downloaded from the bottom of the page and return it directly to the academy along with medical or professional evidence and proof of residence by the agreed date (to be confirmed). Please note that completion of a supplementary information form for Harris Academy Beulah Hill does not constitute an application to the academy. You must complete the eAdmission as well.

- You must submit an application form to your Local Education Authority if applying online by 31st October 2024. A place at any secondary school can only be offered if an application has been received.
- Think carefully about the order in which you place your chosen schools on the form. You should enter your most preferred school first on the list. Please remember to enter the full name of Harris Academy Beulah Hill, There are several different Harris Academies and an entry of simply “Harris Academy” will be ignored.
- You will be invited to a testing day in December 2024, this is a non-verbal reasoning test and ensures places are offered to all bands of ability.
- Be sure to include at least three different schools on your preference form.
On 1st March 2025, the local authority will notify you of the school where your child has been offered a place. If you are happy with the offer, you MUST ACCEPT this place by returning the acceptance form to Admissions at the Academy.
