Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of Harris Academy Beulah Hill is broad and balanced, designed to meet the needs of all our students. Students are provided with an equal opportunity to study a full range of subjects up until they choose their options at the end of Year 9. Our curriculum fosters the development of responsible, empathetic, and well-informed members of society, equipped to face the challenges of the modern world.
Key Stage 3 Curriculum
During Key Stage 3, all students will follow the Academy’s Key Stage 3 curriculum which incorporates the full National Curriculum entitlement and Religious Studies. The HABH Personal Development curriculum, incorporating age-appropriate Relationships and Sex Education, is delivered through Tutor Time.
Students are taught through 6 x 50-minute lessons a day, in addition to 30 minutes of tutor time a day. More information about the academy day is detailed here.

Key Stage 4 Curriculum
The Key Stage 4 Curriculum at Harris Beulah Hill is designed to give students a broad choice of subjects which prepare them for their next stage of education or training.
All students will study the following compulsory subjects:
- English Literature

- Mathematics
- Trilogy Science (Combined) or Separate Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
- Physical Education
- Religious Studies
Students will then choose four options from the following:

Key Stage 5 Curriculum
At Key Stage 5, students typically study up to three subjects and choose from a broad variety of A Level and Vocational courses that are tailored to support their individual interests and future career ambitions.
The curriculum includes:
1. Substantial qualifications that stretch students and prepare them for education at the next level or for employment.
2. English and maths, where students have not yet achieved a GCSE grade 4
3. Work experience to give students the opportunity to develop their career choices and to apply their skills in real working conditions,
4. Other non-qualification activity to develop students’ character, broader skills, attitudes and confidence, and support progression.
