Religious Studies
"I have decided o stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
-- Martin Luther King
The HABH Religious Studies curriculum covers a range of topics including the origins and beliefs of major world religions, the role of religion in society, the impact of religious beliefs on moral and ethical decision-making, and the ways in which different religious traditions approach issues of justice, peace, and conflict. Students will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and debates, explore primary religious texts, and participate in field trips and guest speakers from various religious communities. Through the Religious Studies, students will develop respect for diversity, empathy for others, and an understanding of how religion shapes personal identity and community. They will learn to analyze and evaluate different perspectives, cultivate a sense of ethical responsibility, and grow in their ability to communicate effectively with individuals from different cultural and religious backgrounds.
Overall, our goal is to empower students to become informed, thoughtful, and compassionate global citizens who can navigate the complexities of our diverse and interconnected world with wisdom and understanding.
